Program TwoВ  This program is for ages 12 and younger. 3 x 1.5 hours
Days & Times vary depending on age.
Upon spending at least 3 months of 2 training sessions/week, the fencer is ready to move to the beginner level. Fencers will continue to work on basic techniques while learning new skills.  Moreover, the fencer will improve his/her form, technique and tactics, and gain a deeper understanding of the sport through footwork and blade work exercises, partner drills, and fencing others (“bouting”).  In addition, beginners will gain an understanding of the decision-making process needed and the concepts of attack, defense, and counter-attack. Upon completion of this level, the fencer will have an idea on what it takes to become a competitor. One private lesson per week is recommended at this level. All equipment provided by IFA.
Program ThreeВ This program is for ages 12 and younger. 5 x 1.5 hours
Mon. through Thurs. 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

Sat. 10:00 am – 11:30am

This competitive program is the next step up to the intermediate level where fencers who wish to continue can start competing at the youth level in the sport. In this program, fencers continue to work on perfecting their fundamentals, while learning new skills and more complex tactics. Class structure include warm up, stretching, footwork, blade work, coordination, partner drills, and bouting.В  Here the fencer will start learning more complex tactics and focusing on a building healthy, athletic body and improving reflexes.В  Fencers at this level may choose to participate in local competitions. Two private lessons per week recommended at this level. All equipment provided by IFA.
